residents at a wellness event

Wellness

Breadcrumb

At UCR, wellness is a priority. The resident committee plans monthly events, including painting, paintballing, happy hours, escape rooms, and graduation parties.  The university contributes annually to a wellness fund that the committee uses to sponsor these activities.

Within our re-imagined noon conference didactics, we have a “self-care” mini-series that we’ll go over more later.

The Inland Empire gives residents endless opportunities to unwind together. Our residents often join weekly run-club sessions in Redlands followed by food and drinks at the local market. Ping-pong tournaments in the resident lounge get surprisingly competitive. Our residents also frequently organize pottery classes, hiking excursions, and trivia or game nights in their group chats. The atmosphere is genuinely family-oriented, and we aim to attract residents who will contribute to that culture.

Our residency program is also partnered with Headspace, a service that provides fifteen therapy and psychiatry sessions per year, behavior health coaching, classes, podcasts, and articles.
