Innovative Healthcare Today, Training the Physicians of Tomorrow
Message from the Program Leadership
The Inland Empire has severe physician shortage, especially to take care of underserved populations. We are trying to fill in this void by training diverse group of culturally competent physicians who are committed to serve such populations.
Following the mission of the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine, the Internal Medicine Residency Program will teach the next generation of physicians to be competent and compassionate practitioners in the field of internal medicine. Our innovative program provides excellent clinical and investigational training by a group-committed faculty.
The program will place an emphasis on teaching physicians to practice competently in a multidisciplinary setting, the ability to evaluate literature critically and exercise evidence-based practice, and the skills to thrive in an ever-evolving field where a multidisciplinary approach may be necessary to treat older patients who present with a variety of problems. Training to be compassionate physicians who can work well in a team environment is the goal of this program.
We also have fellowship training programs in cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology, gastrointestinal diseases and critical care medicine adding immensely to the quality of training and educational and research opportunities.
