Message from the Program Director

Thank you for visiting our residency and having interest in the UC Riverside School of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Program.

We are a growing residency program and I am excited and proud of the many changes that are in development here.

I believe in transparency, saying things how they are.  I like to celebrate things that we’re doing well.  I love that we provide amazing training as evidenced by our board pass rate.  I am thrilled that we offer clinical experiences that can’t be found anywhere else in the region.  I’m especially proud of our residents: the comradery that they share and the commitment they have to each other. 

But, when I find things that can be improved or am made aware of them by the residents, I am happy to admit that we can do better.  And in those cases, I am committed to making changes, collaborating with residents and faculty to get as close to perfect as we can.  I have an open-door policy: any one can come to see me for any reason, at any time, and we’ll talk about anything.  Residents can also text or call any time day or night, and I always do my best to make myself available…even if it’s 11 pm and I’m on vacation.
