St. Bernardine Medical Center

St. Bernardine Medical Center (SMBC) is an acute care general hospital and is a member of Dignity Health, one of the largest nonprofit health care delivery systems in the western region of the United States.

SBMC is a STEMI and stroke center with 427-beds including 60 ICU beds. The ER sees over 80,000 patients a year.

Situated in the heart of downtown San Bernardino, it caters to a large and diverse patient population. It is a safety net hospital and serves as a tertiary referral center. Fellows rotating here function as the junior attending and develop essential skills needed for critical care medicine under the supervision of attending physicians who are in-house 24 hours a day.

San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital

San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital (SGMH) is a 79-bed community hospital. SGMH has a 20 bed ICU that meets the healthcare needs of their community.

Rotations here allow for both adequate clinical experience and study time for fellows.  Under the guidance of experienced teaching staff, fellows gain autonomy caring for both critical care and pulmonary patients.
